I have a friend at work who is about my age and also gluten free. We became fast friends by bonding over our love of breakfast and the frustration of finding a great gluten free breakfast. So, when we found Syrup in the Cherry Creek neighborhood of Denver, we were thrilled!
Adam left for an inspection trip early on Sunday morning. And so, my friend and I finally had an excuse to go to breakfast. (It doesn’t take a great reason, just a reason.)
We met downtown for breakfast with a craving for pancakes. Syrup doesn’t have an individual gluten free menu, but it does make a note on its menu of which breakfasts can be made gluten free. Pancakes and English muffins are major staples of their lineup. Unfortunately, their waffles are not gluten free.
As sides, they have smashed tater tots and “Crack Bacon” that will make you melt in your seat.
Since I was craving them, I got pancakes and sausage. I’m a it of a traditionalist when it comes to pancakes; I love buttermilk pancakes.
But if you’re into more flavors, Syrup has the blueberry pancakes, strawberry pancakes, S’mores pancakes, and a Bananas Foster variety. Their crown jewel, however, is their apple pie pancake. It takes a little longer because they bake it, but it’s so worth it!
It was a great breakfast and I will keep going back time and time again! Cherry Creek is a cute little area. There’s a lot of construction because it’s an up-and-coming area. However, there is a lot already there, including some cute little shops that are great for exploring.
